Here's everything you could possibly want to know about what you're paying me.
After we have our first chat and I get you an official quote, you'll pay me a $100 initialization fee. That covers my time in talking to you on the phone before your purchase my review of your site (and all that's attached to it).
Then, starting at your first appointment, you'll pay me $250 per week. That covers two one-hour consultations, up to two hours of email support (usually enough to get answers to about 12 questions), and all the preperatory work that goes into all of the above.
You can cancel at any time.
If you want to use me for extra appointments or email support during the week, I'm available, but additional rates apply. Also, production work can be completed by myself or my sub-contractors, but it's not included in your purchase. Custom consultation and/or service packages can be put together on request.
If you know you're interested in these services, let me know during our sales call. If you discover you're interested during the consultation process, just bring it up any time. You won't be billed for time spent discussing my other services.
When you're ready to go it alone, let me know during a consultation call or by sending me an email. In either case, I'll send a confirmation so you have it for your records.
There are two simple stipulations: You still owe the $250 for the week when you cancel (and you still get those appointments) and you have to pay the $100 initialization fee if you choose to re-start my services in the future.
If you decide you want to keep me on retainer, I can discuss a variety of options to do so. My retainer is normally a $200 to $800 monthly fee that covers email support and, when I feel it's necessary, the occasional phone call. If you choose to keep me on retainer and then move back into bi-weekly consultations, you won't be charged an initialization fee.
At any point past six weeks of support, I have the right to cancel our partnership. I'll do this in cases where 1) You're not benefitting from my services, 2) You're not implementing the SEO changes or strategies I've provided, or 3) I am unavailable due to other projects or obligations (it's very rare, but it does happen).
While I've worked with people for as little as two weeks and as much as two years, the typical client works with me for 4 to 12 weeks. I want to talk to you, figure out your site's problems as quickly as possible, get those problems resolved, and get an effective SEO strategy in place. I don't want to waste your time or mine by extending our partnership beyond the point where it's beneficial.
Given that average, the typical amount you'll pay is in the $1100 to $3000 range, with a retainer option thereafter.
My preferred methods are mailed checks or standard PayPal transfers. I can also accept credit cards, but I'll be adding the merchant fees on top of your purchase.
You'll get an invoice from me twice per month (on or around the 1st and 15th) that details everything owed. If you don't pay within 10 business days, a late fee of $50 or 10% (whichever is lower) will be applied. I also halt my consultation services at that point. If you don't pay me for 30 days, the account's delinquent, and I sell it to a collection group.
